What shipped, in plain words, newest first. The app, Allo-Bot, the iPhone app and this site. [Atom feed](https://allocateai.io/changelog.xml).

### [Twelve how-to guides, a security page, and a Resources menu](#2026-09-29-twelve-how-to-guides-a-security-page-and-a-resources-menu)

The site gained a [Guides](https://allocateai.io/guides) section: how to budget a bonus, commission or RSU vests, how to budget when pay changes every month, and how to plan a wedding, a house, a baby, a move, a raise or a job change — each ending with the plan Allocate would write for it. A new [Security & your data](https://allocateai.io/security) page says plainly what Allocate sees, keeps and never touches. Calculators, Guides and Glossary now live under one **Resources** menu in the header.

Every page on the site is also available as Markdown — the same URL with `.md` on the end — so AI assistants can read it cleanly, and every page has its own preview card when you share a link.

### [Compound interest calculator matches investor.gov to the cent](#2026-09-29-compound-interest-calculator-matches-investor-gov-to-the-cen)

The [compound interest calculator](https://allocateai.io/calculators/compound-interest) now counts contributions at the end of each month — the convention every other calculator uses — and lets you choose annual, quarterly, monthly or daily compounding. Set it to Annually and it matches the SEC's investor.gov calculator exactly; the FAQ on the page explains why different calculators give different numbers.

### [Glossary, comparisons, and all twelve calculators rebuilt](#2026-09-28-glossary-comparisons-and-all-twelve-calculators-rebuilt)

- [Glossary](https://allocateai.io/glossary) — 90 personal-finance terms in plain English, each on its own page with an example and the calculator that uses it.
- [Compare](https://allocateai.io/compare) — Allocate next to YNAB, Monarch, Copilot Money, Rocket Money, Quicken Simplifi and Mint, with sources linked and dated; where each one wins, honestly.
- [Calculators](https://allocateai.io/calculators) — all twelve rebuilt in the site's design, every formula written on the page and every number tested against textbook values. The inputs column now stays put while the results scroll.

Also new: the [About](https://allocateai.io/about) page (who built Allocate and why), the [Demo](https://allocateai.io/demo) page with a click-through tour, and clean URLs across the site.

### [Every goal is measured against what comes in](#2026-09-27-every-goal-is-measured-against-what-comes-in)

When a goal asks for more than your income can carry, Allocate says so — at creation, in the editor and on the guide's card — and offers one tap to **Fit it to my income**. Plan headers now show what's planned next to what comes in, and the morning brief flags a shortfall once, not every day. A lump sum matched to expected income (a bonus, a vest) never triggers the warning.

### [The guide walks you through setup, step by step](#2026-09-27-the-guide-walks-you-through-setup-step-by-step)

Five guided setups — your pay, a spending guide, a board, a goal, a missed bill — each a short walk with *Take me there*, *Do it for me* and *Skip*, where every step is ticked by the real thing happening, however you do it. After the first two weeks, a second ladder covers getting the most out of Allocate: ask a question, open Today, set a spending guide, make a board, approve a suggestion.

The guide also speaks on arrival now — a couple of lines the first time you open a board, My plan or Budget — and before a bank is linked, every page answers from the take-home you gave at setup instead of showing $0.

### [Phone: handrails for the first week](#2026-09-27-phone-handrails-for-the-first-week)

Worth-asking chips, the walkthrough as a row, and the setup walk card on every screen. While the walkthrough is leading (your first week), the assistant opens on one step with *Take me there / Not now* and the brief as a single line. The message composer now grows like Messages does — from one line up to the room above the keyboard, then scrolls.

### [Sheets on the Workspace](#2026-09-25-sheets-on-the-workspace)

A sheet on a board now works like one: A1 references and ranges, PMT / FV / PV / NPER / NPV / IF and friends, drag-select, shift-extend, fill handle, copy and paste, sort and filter, undo and redo, a format toolbar ($ % decimals bold wrap), column resize and auto-size to content. Ask the guide to *suggest a formula* and it fills the cell; ask it to change a sheet and it edits it in place. The guide can also pin sheets and frames to a board, and pins land inside the frame you point at.

### [Support from every screen, and a clearer plan sheet](#2026-09-24-support-from-every-screen-and-a-clearer-plan-sheet)

- A support form on web, phone and the site — a person reads it.
- The plan sheet redesigned as two cards, with Allo-Bot message packs inside; the price reads */mo* or */yr* everywhere.
- Bills opens on today. Chart labels stop overlapping. The greeting matches the hour.
- My plan's cover is a set of free-standing chapter cards, each opening its section or goal document.
- Phone: Net worth and Investments get a from → to window with native pickers; Budget bars open their rows.

### [Phone: payday on the Lock Screen, Bills as a month wheel](#2026-09-23-phone-payday-on-the-lock-screen-bills-as-a-month-wheel)

- **Payday Live Activity** — a card on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island on payday, with safe to spend on it.
- A Lock Screen widget, haptics, long-press menus and quick actions; Face ID to lock the app.
- **Bills as a month wheel** — a continuous timeline you turn like a clock, month labels, subscriptions and bills toggles, every row opening its charge.
- Reconnecting a bank uses Plaid's update flow instead of starting over.

### [Alerts you set up yourself](#2026-09-22-alerts-you-set-up-yourself)

Notifications are now only what you asked for. Under Settings → Notifications: your own rules (percent of a spending guide, safe to spend below a number, and five built-ins), a per-alert push switch, quiet hours, how many pushes a day you'll accept, and a history of what fired. On the phone: swipe to delete, tap to edit, on/off. Allo-Bot can create or change a rule when you ask.

### [Safe to spend shows its receipt](#2026-09-22-safe-to-spend-shows-its-receipt)

Tap the safe-to-spend figure and it opens its receipt: every row that moved it, with the running total, each opening the transaction. The math is a link inside. Also this week: Allo-Bot can draft a whole budget under one approval, set spending guides and delete a category; weekly goals are picked on Monday rather than assigned; Income and Savings charts get a range pill and a calendar; Today on the phone is a reel of five full-screen cards.

### [Subscribe on the phone, and a Home that shows this check so far](#2026-09-21-subscribe-on-the-phone-and-a-home-that-shows-this-check-so-f)

App Store subscriptions: web checkout first, Apple's under it; the plan's source shows on Settings. Home gains *this check so far* — three bars that fill as the paycheck is spent. Savings is one stacked chart with the account list beside it. Settings keeps only what's wired: email, morning brief, plan & billing. Sign-in never routes through a stock login page any more.

### [Bills match by their Plaid stream; the Budget has a receipt](#2026-09-20-bills-match-by-their-plaid-stream-the-budget-has-a-receipt)

A bill is matched to its bank transaction by Plaid's recurring stream first, then name, then amount and day — fewer mismatches when a merchant renames itself. The Budget shows a receipt on both tabs: bills by name, yours to spend, spent so far, safe to spend; group totals read green in / red out, and every subtracting row carries its minus. Week goals get real caps, a pace line and confirmed no-spend days.

### [One Safe to spend, on every surface](#2026-09-18-one-safe-to-spend-on-every-surface)

Safe to spend now has one engine — the paycheck — and one window and one name for bills, spent and cushion, so the number on Home, Budget, the phone and the widget is the same number. The Budget's Paycheck / Month toggle scopes the whole page; Month's headline is cash through month end, with the plan as the line under it. Before a bank is linked, Home shows the plan you just built above the connect-a-bank door, and Workspace and How-to are open to every account.

### [My plan says why a date moved](#2026-09-17-my-plan-says-why-a-date-moved)

When a goal's date changes, the plan now explains the mechanism — what came in, what was spent, what shifted — instead of just showing the new date. Year-to-date savings rate is a served figure, and scenario cards say what changes. Board pins the guide places land at once on the Workspace (every other write still waits for your approval). The [Terms of Service](https://app.allocateai.io/terms) page went live.

### [Allo-Bot: verdicts come from the numbers, and a longer memory](#2026-09-16-allo-bot-verdicts-come-from-the-numbers-and-a-longer-memory)

Whether a goal fits, whether an event landed, how two figures compare — those sentences are now computed from your data, not composed by the model, so they can't drift. The assistant keeps a much longer conversation history and recaps anything it had to drop, *Done* means approved, and its cards read the same everywhere. Sign-in identity was hardened on the same day.
