# Morning brief

In Allocate, a short written note each morning covering what moved in your money overnight and anything that needs a decision from you.

The morning brief is a few sentences Allocate writes for you each day, before you have opened anything else. It is plain prose, not a dashboard: what changed since yesterday, what is coming in the next few days, and whether anything needs a yes or no from you.

A typical brief might read: your paycheck of $3,240 landed overnight; safe to spend through the 29th is $910 after rent and the car payment; the $500 you planned for the emergency fund went through; the electricity bill is $40 higher than last month; your February RSU vest is eleven days out and is expected to cover the rest of the Italy goal. If a goal has slipped, the brief says so and offers a fix. If nothing moved, it says nothing moved, in one line.

The brief is built from your own numbers only: your accounts, your bills, your plan, and the income events you have told it about. It does not recommend products or pull in news.

The purpose is to replace checking. Most people open a banking app several times a day to see if things are fine. The brief is meant to answer that once, in the morning, so the rest of the day does not need it. Anything that requires action, such as approving a change Allo-Bot has staged or confirming that a bonus arrived, is flagged with a single clear ask.

Briefs are short on purpose. A day with nothing to report gets two sentences, not a filler summary.

**Plan in plain language.**

Allocate answers “can I afford this?” from your own numbers, writes the plan, and stages every change for your yes. It starts from an estimate before you link a bank.
