Not the other way around. Allocate is a personal-finance app, not a bank. It connects to the accounts you already have, builds one plan from this month to retirement, and asks before anything changes. ## What Allocate is A budgeting and financial-planning app you talk to in plain words. You link your accounts through Plaid (or start from what you take home, before linking anything), tell Allocate what matters — "we're moving in the spring", "can I afford $400 more into the 401(k)?" — and it answers from your own numbers, writes the plan, and stages every change for your approval. Three things you won't find elsewhere: - **My plan** — a written plan, not a dashboard: your goals in order, what each takes a month, when it lands, what changed. Yours to edit. - **Workspace** — a board you build from your own data: pin any figure, put a note beside it, run a sheet with live cells, ask the guide to break a number down. - **A morning brief** — a short note every morning: what moved, what's coming, what needs a yes. ## What it reads Every account in one place — checking, savings, cards, loans, investments — through Plaid. Balances, transactions, bills, goals, paycheck timing: the same live numbers on every page. Pay that comes in pieces (a bonus, a commission, a vest) goes into the plan as expected income on its date, so it funds the goal it should instead of arriving as a surprise. ## One plan, three timeframes This month's bills and Safe to spend; the things with a date — a move, a wedding, a car you'd rather pay for than borrow for — each with a monthly amount; and the long run, retirement included. They're decided together, because what you set aside for 2041 is the same money you didn't spend this month. ## It writes to you before you're up The morning brief reads your accounts overnight and tells you what changed, what's coming, and what needs a yes. Say "Denver in May instead of next April" and the brief comes back with what the move needs a month, whether the wedding still happens on time, and what stays untouched — staged for your approval. ## It suggests. You decide. That is the whole arrangement. - Connections run through Plaid; your bank password never reaches Allocate. - Read-only by scope: it can look, it cannot pay, move or withdraw. - Nothing about your accounts is sold, shared, or used to pitch you products. - Every change Allo-Bot proposes waits for your approval, and anything approved can be undone. ## Before you connect anything ### Is Allocate a bank? No. Your money stays where it is — in your own accounts, at your own banks. Allocate reads them, drafts a plan, and asks. It holds nothing. ### Can it move or spend my money? It cannot. Connections are read-only: Allocate can see balances and transactions, and that is the whole of it. Every transfer is still something you do yourself, in your own bank. ### What do I need to start? One connected account and a sentence about what matters — "we're moving in the spring" is enough. The plan starts from what your accounts already show. You can also start from your take-home pay before linking a bank. ### What happens when life changes? Say so, and the plan is redrawn around it — what moves, what it costs, what stays protected, shown before and after. Nothing is applied until you approve it, and approvals can be undone. ### What if I stop using it? There is nothing to unwind.
